Middle School Workshop Classes
Workshop classes meet weekly during the school year, in the early evening at La Casita Feliz on Queen Anne. Each session has a general theme, engages global peers online, and integrates language learning with the development of other Global Competency skills.
Global Workshop classes are for students with Intermediate Mid or higher levels of Spanish. Global citizenship is the focus, with an emphasis on cross cultural communication and environmental awareness.
All class activities will have a cultural component related to Guatemala, Perú and Spain. The Tierra de Niños (Children’s Land) project is an integral part of the curriculum as an ongoing topic for project based learning and informational exchange with our global partners in those countries.
- Connect online with global peers in Peru, Guatemala and Spain!
- Share cultures!
- Document the Global Youth Garden
- Take your Spanish to the NEXT LEVEL in full immersion!
The linguistic focus of this course is oral proficiency in a real-world context. Students, however, will also read a variety of texts and practice their writing skills. Specific grammar points will be addressed in the context of student projects. The course is conducted entirely in Spanish.
La Casita Feliz is located at 1316 3rd Ave W. Seattle WA 98119.
